Captain Over is the solo electronic alias of Leeds-based musician and producer Greg Surmacz. Since 2018 the Captain has released offbeat, forward-facing dancefloor music influenced by broken beat, grime, US rap, P-Funk, and the spectrum of UK electronic sounds.

His background as a jazz musician seeps into these technicolour productions, resulting in unexpected twists and turns and a unique voice within the scene. The project has seen collaborations with legendary vocalists like Trim (James Blake, 1-800 Dinosaur) and Manga Saint Hilare (Roll Deep, The Bug), and releases on Darker Than Wax, Dance Regular, Tru Thoughts, XVI Records and CoOp. Support for the music has come from Tom Ravenscroft on 6 Music, Moses Boyd on Radio 1, Jamz Supernova and DJ Target on 1xtra, Mixmag and many more.
