Over the past five days, Amsterdam played host to more than 2,500 artists, 600 daytime conference speakers and 395,000 visitors from more than 90 different countries at its annual electronic music industry gathering, ADE. Billboard recalls the event as ‘the five-day electronic music mecca’ and listed nine moments the editors would be happy to lose sleep over all over again. Working in the music industry may seem like it’s all $100,000 syncs and new artists making it on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists, but music rights holders face a host of endless challenges in today’s market. While at Amsterdam Dance Event, 411 Music Group’s Founder Kristen Agee discussed these topics and more with a few music publisher colleagues including Jean Sebastien Permal (Wolken Group), Jessica Ibgui (BuddeMusic), and Thomas de Raad (CTM Publishing). The panel was moderated by Carly Wilford, DJ and Founder of I Am Music.

There is a massive move to globalization in all industries, and it is becoming more and more important to be aware of and understand the way different territories operate. ADE gives me the chance to meet new producers and DJs, hear new music and understand the way business is progressing in The Netherlands and throughout Europe.”
